Gochis privacy policy

Last updated September 26, 2026

Gochis is a Mac app by SIUX, sold at siux.co by SIUX Studio LLC, which handles your order data. It makes no network requests: everything it reads and remembers stays on your Mac. This page says exactly what that is.

What stays on your Mac

Your gochi’s name, needs, personality and how much each gochi likes you, plus your settings, are saved on your Mac in ~/Library/Application Support/Gochi and the app’s preferences.

There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Gochis doesn’t send anything to SIUX or to anyone else.

What Gochis reads to live beside your Dock

To find the room beside the Dock, it reads the Dock’s own settings. To climb your windows, it reads where windows are on screen, never their titles or contents; macOS doesn’t ask for a permission for this.

To pose when you take a screenshot, it notices the screenshot tool opening and asks Spotlight whether a new screenshot was saved. It never opens, reads or copies the screenshot.

Claude Code

Connecting to Claude Code is optional, and Gochis asks before doing it. It adds its own hooks to your Claude Code settings, leaves the rest of the file alone and saves a copy of it first. You can disconnect at any time from its menu.

The hooks tell the app, on your Mac, what each session is doing: the tool Claude uses and a short summary, such as a file name, a web host or Claude’s own description of a command, never the command itself. Gochis reads each session’s transcript on your Mac to measure how much context it uses and, only when you open its card, to show Claude’s last words.

Permission requests travel over a private connection that only your user account can open, and are answered on your Mac. To select a session’s tab and tint it, Gochis controls Terminal or iTerm, which macOS asks you to allow the first time.

When you buy Gochis from siux.co

Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your email address and the order details; we never see your card. Stripe’s privacy policy applies to the payment.

We use your email to deliver your license, answer your questions and handle refunds, and never sell or share it for marketing.

Keeping and deleting your data

Deleting the app and ~/Library/Application Support/Gochi removes your gochi and its memories; disconnecting Claude Code first removes its hooks. Order records are kept in Stripe for as long as tax and accounting rules require. To ask for a copy of your data, or to delete it where the law allows, write to hello@siux.co.

Children

Gochis is made for people who use a Mac, many of them to program, and isn’t directed at children.
